Wynn Pelzer just keeps improving as the Double-A season wears on.
He threw five no-hit innings yesterday, and over his last three starts, the righty has allowed two earned runs in 16 2/3 innings, striking out 20 and walking just 5.
Now with a 3.72 ERA, Pelzer, 23, looks ready for the next level.
He is a bit old for Double-A, since he’s about to turn 24 in a month, but Pelzer has the stuff and command to be in the majors in a year. His upside is as a middle-of-the-rotation starter or power reliever.
Pelzer’s success this year is raising his stock, at least in my eyes.
