Dodgers, Giants Sweep; Padres…Get Swept
By Editorial Staff
Well, that was a bad three-game stretch.
The Padres were shut out yesterday by Chad Billingsley 1-0, as he limited San Diego to just four hits and a walk in 7 1/3 innings. The bullpen took it from there.
Wade LeBlanc did his best to match Billingsley, holding LA to two hits in seven innings, but he allowed a run. LeBlanc also walked three, one of which led to the run.
In the meantime, the Giants finished off a sweep of the Astros with a 4-3 win, so they’re right back to the 1/2 game back that they were before the Padres swept them last series.
My, how things can change so fast…
The Padres are now just 2 up on the Dodgers and 3 up on Colorado as well.
Now the Dodgers get to play that 13-24 Houston team at home, while the Padres get another series against the Giants. If the Padres continue to struggle, they could find themselves in third or even fourth place in a couple of days.
